Bulldawgdan....you missed the point. My comment to Crash was intended to poke a bit of humor at Flyboy....ie, what else could make him so bitter toward Crash except Georgia's loss to Tennessee. Now it seems that you as well may also harbor some ill feelings centered around football? PS: Congratulations on Georgia's fine season.

Aubernite, thank goodness you guys were on the schedule this year. Now how did you get from an amazing responce by Crash to trashing the Bulldawgs? What a stupid question, I know football is political at Auburn. Just ask Coach Tuberville. Crash is investing in gold to raise money for bail bonds for this favorite team. Good nite to all from Athens.

FlyGirl
First, I thank you for an obviously impassioned, well thought out articulate response. Interestingly enough, I agree with some of what you say and disagree vehemently with other segments. It is this kind of debate that we seek. If everyone agreed with us it would be emotionally rewarding…but not satisfying. We have some dedicated readers who agree with comments on the JTIU site and others who e-mail us or talk with us personally, encouraging us to continue fighting what we feel is a vital battle for the continued freedom of our nation and way of life. I think it would be hard for any thinking person to believe that the American way of life or experiment is not the envy of the world. We have no fences erected to keep people from leaving…..a testament to the quality of our society. Even those in low segments of the socio-economic ladder don’t try to escape the USA. And for those who want out….Delta is ready when you are!

Now to your thoughts….

I thank God every day that Obama has had only 9 months to inflict socialism or worse on our country. Americans seem to be waking up to the threat he and his ideas, actions and world view are to what we have built over the last 233 years. I hope and pray that the tide is turning before we go further down the tube than he has tried to take us already.

Regarding George Bush, I agree with you, a great speaker and smooth talker he is not. Probably the best pure speakers we have had since the turn of the century have been Bill Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama. To discuss Clinton’s character is fruitless. You know what I and a growing number of Americans think of Obama.

The three most intellectual Presidents in modern times are probably Clinton, Obama and Jimmy Carter. Carter couldn’t get out of his own way. Now he can’t keep his mouth shut even though he has nothing of value to say.

Now back to Bush….I believe, contrary to what I’m confident you espouse, that he and Reagan were different in many ways and similar in others. Reagan possessed a folksy way of communicating truth, core positive values and reality in a manner that engendered confidence and hope. Bush didn’t possess that same degree of communication ability, but he did, like Reagan, have the guts and will to protect this country at all cost. And before you jump full force on to the “at all cost” phrase and relate it to Iraq, remember WWII, do the math on it and consider the results.

Lies and half truths…..I agree, I hate them both! Take a look and see where they are coming from. Flyboy admitted to a socialistic position. And you have also snugged up close to it yourself. Don’t mix up socialism and fascism with benevolence for those in true need and a willingness to be a part of their own solution. SCAM the system….that’s what Obama is best at.

I know Flyboy and have for decades. We have discussed many issues over the years. We and a number of our readers have been trying to get him to write something cohesive and thoughtful….to no avail. You have come to his aid…thankfully. We would love to continue engaging you on issues…..please come back. Flyboy is welcome too…if his wife, who is a dear sweet lady, will let him return.

Your good friend is in a tough spot. Some people do get caught in the cracks of an imperfect system. Socializing the system as Pelosi, Reed and Obama want will not solve that problem, it will only exacerbate it. Communities, including churches, have abdicated the responsibility of tending to the poor, widowed and orphans. This has opened the door for professional crooks including self serving government, corporate and independent thieves to fill the gap. Thus, we have made our own bed…..but if we wake up and act we will not have to continue to lie down in it…we can change it. By the way, how much have you given to your friend to help her in her dilemma. Just thought I’d ask.

And finally regarding Christianity......Christianity does not emanate from kindness and compassion. Kindness and compassion often do and should emanate from Christianity. Christianity is a result of accepting God’s gift of his Son as the reconciliation of sinful man to the perfect God. I am a Christian. Strong debate over issues, seeking truth and often including significant differences and harsh words are not, contrary to your position, antithetical to Christianity.

Thanks for your thoughts. We look forward to hearing from you again.

I am making an assumption that the people that run this site are conservative Republicans and most likely voted for George W. Bush. Let's compare the comments you have posted about Obama, who has only been in office for 9 months and has hardly had a chance to implement any of the things he said on the campaign trail (except working on health care reform) with some of the things our previous President said over the past EIGHT years:

"Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties." --discussing the Iraq war with Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson in 2003, as quoted by Robertson

"I think I was unprepared for war." –on the biggest regret of his presidency, ABC News interview, Dec. 1, 2008

"Do you have blacks, too?" --to Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Washington, D.C., Nov. 8, 2001

"I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe -- I believe what I believe is right." --Rome, Italy, July 22, 2001

"Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" --Florence, South Carolina, Jan. 11, 2000

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." --Washington, D.C., Sept. 13, 2001

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." --Washington, D.C., March 13, 2002

"You work three jobs? ... Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that." --to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Nebraska, Feb. 4, 2005

Compare the quotes from each President and gosh, one of them sounds...uh, retarded. And it isn't President Obama.

I'm not sure why the people on this site are so mean-spirited. I understand we all have our particular political bents but spite and acting like third-graders with the name calling is not attractive in anyone - especially folks that parade themselves around as "Christians".

So many people enjoy spreading lies and half-truths - liberals and conservatives alike. I'm pretty sick of it all - the only reason I'm on this site is because of my uncle, Flyboy. You all have said some pretty harsh things here to him and about him. I know damn well my uncle isn't a socialist nor does he advocate the country being a socalist country. But, truthfully, there are SOME aspects of socialism that are appealing, such as universal healthcare. Personally, I don't mind paying a little extra in taxes to help out my fellow Americans. Now, if you're healthy and able-bodied trying to run a scam on the system, I'll be the first to kick you in the butt but there are plenty of REAL people who need help that they aren't getting right here in the U.S.

A very good friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with narcolepsy, a disease she's had all her life but some doctor finally figured it out after all this time. She recently (after two years of hearings) was awarded disabilty for the whopping sum of $962 per month. Unfortunately, the medicine she needs is only $1300 per month, which leaves somewhat of a deficit...even by Bernie Madoff accounting principals. Are we really going to turn our backs on people like this? I don't even pretend to be a christian but I do have compassion and kindness for others and it certainly would be nice to see a bit more of that in this world.

What in the world are you smoking? First you have "signed off" of this site many times only to return with your childish and pointless ranting. These writers are making strong clear points. I don't always agree with them but they make me think. You simply make me laugh, at your infantile attempt to enter into the discussion but without the ability to make even the simplest point except for disagreeing with everything. You have made it quite clear, although it had to be extracted from your childish gibberish, that you are a socialist. Congratulations! Grab your Alice In Wonderland, Three Bears and Cinderella books and go to the corner and read. Your thought process, if there is one, is in line with Obama-mania. You are a joke without a punchline.

PS: Regarding your reference to the Rich Fool in Luke, you are absolutely right that it is a "great life lesson". I'm just not sure that it's a lesson you have as yet understood. I may be mistaken, only knowing you from your writings here, though.
You see, God calls this man a fool because he reasoned that his life of secure and abundant earthly enjoyment was the pinnacle of human success and happiness. A fool is a person without good sense or mental sanity, one who lacks a commonsense perception of the reality of physical and spiritual things (Luke 11:39-41; Jeremiah 17:11). The true reality is that everything depends on what God wills, not what man plans (James 4:13-17).
Solomon, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Joseph, David were ALL very wealthy. Let's not forget the generous Joseph of Arimathea. He was one of the richest men in the known world at the time of Jesus Crucifixion.
I'm convinced that God is not 'unhappy' with men because they have lots of money. It's where they put God in their lives.

OK Janet,
HERE IS YOUR ANSWER.
I have my brain in the "Alice in Wonderland" mode. In this mode I think that I can understand what you are saying and asking.
You want to pretend or assume, for arguments sake, that the words of you and Crash are TRUE. If I give you that, would it not be fair to me, to pretend my words, for the sake of argument, would also be true? Would that be OK with you? I think I know the answer on this one.
As a child, I was into the "pretend game", as most children are. You know, I'll be a Pilot and you be a Stewardess, or the Doctor and Nurse thing, or whatever. I'll guess that you were the Princess. I must admit, it was fun, but I outgrew it.
Now your question is, as I see it, if you and Crash want to play the pretend game with the meaning of words or truth, is it OK with me?
THE ANSWER IS.......................... DRUM ROLL..................... YES,YES,YES..............OK WITH ME!!!!!
HAPPY NOW?.................THANKS FOR ASKING SO NICELY.
Your game reminds me of a conversation between Humpty Dumpty and Alice in Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland". This helped me understand what you are saying. Passage follows:

'I don't know what you mean by "glory,"' Alice said
Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. 'Of course you don't--till I tell you.
I meant "there's a nice knock-down argument for you!"
'But "glory" doesn't mean "a nice knock-down argument,"' Alice objected
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, 'it
means JUST what I CHOOSE it to mean--neither MORE nor LESS.

Like I have said, I am mad at myself for wasting my time on this narcissistic website and I don't want to waste any more time playing your assume/pretend game. I'd rather pop some popcorn. But if it is any comfort to you, I would rather look at your website than go shopping with my wife.
But I am happy for you and Crash to have at it. You guys have fun.
And Janet, do you ever say God Bless America, Land that I Love? Just wondering......
And Janet, if you reply to this, please forgive me if I ignore you forever. But I know your many avid readers will enjoy your reply!
I hope you have a nice life.
As we say in pilot talk......
Roger Wilco, Over and Out...out....out......fade in volume................... out.........silence.......Zzzzzz..........
Flyboy..............Zzzzzz...........
