Hey! Here’s An Idea!

How about when choosing a Supreme Court Justice nominee, we choose one whose bench decisions weren’t made based on her FEELINGS, but rather the LAW? Also, perhaps a nominee shouldn’t have had almost ALL of her previous decisions (taken to) OVERTURNED by the Supreme Court when they got there . . . It’s just an idea, of course. Again~here’s me: guilty of thinking out loud. It just seems reasonable that if someone is of  “great legal mind”, they know and practice the law so as not to be misunderstood, overturned, or loopholed. But,oops~that’s too much common sense for the once noble professions in government. Gee whiz.

Mr. President, you can have your liberal choice, you’re going to get it anyway since you won, but why not choose the best in class? Are you such a racist, that you would choose based on ethnicity and gender? There MUST be smarter, more impressive people to carry out your ‘make it up as you go along’ blue prints for disaster. Come on. If this is the best you’ve got then we’re REALLY in trouble.

Our POTUS is *&^% bent on running the country like he’s running the (once) private companies he’s taken over. He’s patterning himself after some pretty big failures. . .I say, use a better model~let’s say “Chick-fil-A” for example~Where would they be, if they chose tough, sub par birds (pigeons for instance) to dice up and serve to the public because it’s fair to the bird population? They are at the top of their game because their policy is to select the best of the best. Once again, too much common sense for this administration.

North Korea, Iran, Russia, et al Test Obama and U.S.

Joe Biden continues to confirm his well earned reputation as a loquacious, gaffe prone politician ready willing and able to tell anything he knows and much that he doesn’t know. It was, therefore, no surprise to anyone when he went off the proverbial reservation by telling reporters that he had instructed his family to go into virtual hibernation in order to avoid the Swine Flu. Oops, I mean H1N1 to be more politically correct and to not offend Oscar Meyer. His comments were in direct opposition to those of his boss, BHO, who was trying to downplay the severity of the disease. Most recently Biden revealed the location of a protective bunker for the Vice President under the Naval Observatory adjacent to the VP’s residence. His antics would be comical if they were not so threatening to our Nation’s security.

Toward the end of the Presidential race, Biden made a prediction, unwelcomed by Obama, but quite prophetic, that within 6 months, Obama’s mettle would be challenged by one or more of the world’s leaders. It didn’t take that long.

The world awoke on Memorial Day to the news that North Korea had detonated a 10-20 kiloton underground bomb. Make no mistake about it this is a serious matter! Fifty nine years ago on June 25, 1950, and after the loss of 36,000+ lives, we brought to a close the Korean war that started on July 27, 1950 when North Korea invaded the South by crossing the 38th Parallel. North Korea has continued to be a belligerent bully in that area ever since.

The bomb test was preceded by a failed attempt to launch a ground-to-ground missile in April and a successful launch of a similar missile only a few days ago. This missile has the power to reach Israel as well as U.S. Troops stationed in the region. Kim Jung-il, North Korea’s diabolical, sadistic, gnome like second-generation dictator is obviously poking his finger in the collective eyes of the world and specifically the U.S. His courage has, arguably, been elevated by the actions of Obama as he has compromised our security and revealed a government passivity not seen for eight years.

While we were passing the pork laden stimulus package and fighting other financial issues, a number of countries have been making moves to see what the U. S. is now made of. China challenged our Navy in a nominal confrontation early in 2009. Russia is reported to be moving to base bombers in both Cuba and with our nemesis Hugh Chavez in Venezuela. Can we afford a new Cuban Missile Crisis.

The greatest threat, however, seems to be Iran who is evidently close to having uranium in a state to produce a nuclear weapon with the range to attack Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu has just visited the U. S., undoubtedly to look into Obama’s eyes and see what his position is on the continued support of Israel. Netanyahu has proven to be a no nonsense protector of his country.

Bombs similar to that sought by Iran, brought WWII to a close with Enola Gay’s dropping of the A-Bomb “Little Boy” on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Three days later “Fat Man” was dropped on Nagasaki and VJ day six days later brought WWII to a close. These weapons are bad news. In the hands of Iran, a nuclear weapon puts our world in grave peril.

I am concerned about the message our country is sending to the world. Say what you wand about George Bush, but the world knew he would not let the U.S. be a paper tiger. The jury is out on Barack Hussein Obama. The world is watching while the global bullies dance around, spitting and poking on Old Glory. I pray we do not cede our world position to them by virtue of the attitudes that seem prevalent in this administration. Its time for Obama to cowboy up! Watch closely and pray fervently……these are scary times.

The Identit(y/ies) of THE THIEF!

First, let me give my thanks for those who posted answers to the article I wrote some weeks ago entitled , “Guess_The_Identity_Of_This_Thief”,  as well as those who emailed and called to provide your guess and the reason for it.  I must admit that the breadth of thinking of those who were kind enough to read the post and follow up  was greater than mine in writing it.   I commend the readers for your expansive thinking.  The range of answers also showed the parallelism and similarity among thieves of this nature, because they all fit in some way.

BIG LO IN K TOWN guessed Obama as did Pat and E.  Robbins.   E.  Robbins also said it could be The  Great Society or the US Government.  Skeptic said  “the anti-christ or anyone in the administration” and that Madoff is a minion by comparison…later skeptic threw “Queen Barney Frank” into the mix.  Bulldawg Dan said it was Ken Lay.  J Alexander said it was  “any unregenerate soul”.   Paula threw Marcus Schrenker, the high roller who faked his suicide under the bus….or his airplane.  And finally E.T. suggested a few culprits the most intriguing of which is Wormwood of C.S. Lewis’s Screw Tape Letters.  WOW…what great and expansive insight you all had.  THANKS!

My post indicated a number of parallels between Madoff and Barack Obama.   This is not to say that the two are the same.  Many dissimilarities between the two can be listed, but I will leave the construction of such list to each of you.

Each of these men have taken something from our society.  Madoff robbed a select few of a great deal of money and assets.  Many, including  quite a number of foundations have been wiped out.  Others have lost only a portion of their wealth.  All lost whatever was left of their ability to trust people and institutions.  And when all is told, I believe that some if not many who invested with Madoff  knew he was shady even if they didn’t know how he accomplished his chicanery.  They didn’t care as long as the returns came rolling in……”show me the money”.

Similarly Obama,  with many of his programs, edicts and strategies, has taken from our citizens much of the systemic stability that was built into our system.  A case in point is the arbitrary distribution of assets in the Chrysler deal.  In our system debt holders are senior to equity owners in the case of an asset distribution.  Additionally,  neither workers nor their representatives are entitled to such distribution in a “dissolved” company.  In this case, the union was given 45% of the equity, the bond holders 10% .  Further, Obama lashed out at the bondholders for not caving in to him in the deal.  Trust in his ability to protect the integrity of a fragile economic system is eroding rapidly.

So who is it?  I believe that even though the thievery of Madoff was huge and egregious, it was focused on a relative few people and institutions, many of whom were not totally wiped out and some of whom profited.  Granted, some were left virtually penniless or bankrupt and all were effected significantly.  The time frame and the breadth of the problem is, however,  limited to a degree.

On the other hand, there is a substantial chance,  if not probability,  that the effect caused by the massive spending, illegal takeover of private corporations, compromise of our national security and questionably irreversible movement of our economy toward socialism implemented by Obama will be more far reaching and longer lasting than we even imagine.  This would make Madoff seem like a choir boy who stole a gum ball by comparison.

Again, thanks to all who posted their highly intelligent guesses to the identity of this thief.  It has confirmed my view that our readers are truly thinkers.  It will certainly keep us at JTIU on our writing toes.

Say It Ain’t So, Joe!

Alright. . .if you’ve wondered why so many are complaining about the way the new Administration is handling Homeland Security issues, this ought to put the nail in the coffin for you. Welcome to our side, leftie. Let’s pass a bill in this lazy*** congress against ‘blowhard pompous stupid’ . . . oh wait . . . that would leave us with absolutely nobody in government, accept a couple Jr. leaguers. That would be refreshing.

Has Joe had Botox injections in his BRAIN? Maybe his blow dryer is too hot. WHAT A FLIPPIN MORON.

From The C.I.A. to the C.Y.A.

Well he has done it again!  President  Barack  Hussein Obama has released memos detailing tactics used by the Central Intelligence Agency to extract much needed information from captured terrorists.   In this idiotic and sanctimonious act, BHO has relegated the C.I.A. to a handcuffed group of professionals in danger of prosecution for doing the job for which they have been trained and that they have performed in a stellar fashion for decades.  They now must protect their perpetually exposed posteriors or be skewered by the administration they have sworn to protect and,  in turn, be protected by.  Thanks Mr. Prez, you seem intent on undoing the security for which our nation has fought for almost 250 years.

The firestorm caused by this act has been fueled over the last week by almost daily reactions from politicians with significant skin in this high stakes poker game.   Dick Cheney, Vice President during the time the “enhanced interrogation techniques” were being used, argued for release of  the results of the techniques used and their impact on the 8 year dearth of attacks on our soil since 9/11.   His continued assertions raised the ante of the game.

With the increasing imperative to protect her own political hide in question, because of her assertions that she knew nothing about waterboarding and other EITs in spite of numerous briefings of the Congress, she took her prepared text and her plastic smile into a press briefing this week.  She performed miserably, stumbling and mumbling in an attempt to stay on script but looking like a deer in the headlights.  When pressed,  she confirmed her position that the C.I.A. had lied to Congress.  She finally walked off, leaving more questions than she answered but staking out a position that could ultimately be her undoing.

Then began the wait to see if and when BHO and Leon Panetta, the current C.I.A. head,  would respond to this exploding bruhaahaa.  The wait was short.  Panetta was anything but a logical choice to head the C.I.A., having never had the intelligence experience perceived to be essential to leading this critical agency.  Nonetheless he was confirmed.  If he didn’t forcefully protect the C.I.A., he would take the last claw out of the intelligence tiger crippled by BHO’s act.   If he did protect his organization he would be going against the liberals he has served for his entire career.  He made the right choice by renouncing Pelosi and her assertions that the C.I.A. lied to Congress.

Some of the House members came to Pelosi’s aid, probably fearful of retribution from her known political cunning.  It will be interesting to see how Stenny Hoyer and his supporters will act.  This may be the opportunity he needs to wrest leadership from the lady who derailed his previous attempt to lead the House.

The political infighting is not the critical issue here, even though the fight that is sure to rage long into the Summer and possibly beyond, will likely focus on it.  What is important is the safety and security of our Nation.  They have, doubtless, been compromised by the release of documents by BHO and the resulting anger and fear injected into the C.I.A..  This whole political mess would be comical if it were not so dangerous.

I wonder what it is going to take for the 70% that suspend logical thinking and history,  rather choosing to fawn over Obama’s every word and act, to wake up.  Will this be it?  Probably not,  unless the reduced effectiveness of the C.I.A. and other of our protectors, chose to lock down and go into C.Y.A. mode, resulting  in placing our safety and security in further peril.   God forbid.

What Price Beauty?

Carrie Prejean . . . why does ANYONE even care what she thinks about ANYTHING? Unless of course, you know her, are a family member or friend. . .then what she thinks could easily be important to you. I can guarantee you that ’The Donald’ doesn’t give a rats rear what she thinks or believes. Thinking on her part, doesn’t make headlines which rollover into free publicity, which rolls again into cash for his empire. As a matter of fact, ‘thinking’ wouldn’t even make the long list on requirements for what he uses ‘pretty’ people for.  Don’t misunderstand this, I happen to like Donald Trump. He’s smart, entertaining, and rich. Ain’t a thing wrong with that!

All that being said, there is a problem here. She has been swept up into a public position that she’s not ready for. Not even close. Somehow, Christians latched on to her answer about  the gay marriage controversy (the passing of ‘Proposition 8′ in California) in this country. The ‘Christian’ community immediately raised her banner high, crying  “foul” over the heat from her answer about marriage. She was a presenter at the Dove Awards, as well as making the “Christian” media circles. . . . all because of  11 words. . .”I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.”

Now, with all the (lost) skeptics in the world watching closely, she “represents” (according to SOME I’ve heard interviewing her) the “Bible believing conservative movement”. . . .hmmm. On behalf of  Bible believing conservatives everywhere, please let me offer a resounding ” Not in THIS millennium. Thanks, but NO thanks.” . . . She’s pretty, in fact beautiful, seems very sweet as well as likable. But, let’s not pretend that beauty brings virtue with it, any more than being smart, entertaining, and rich makes one principled.

Will she be strong enough to withstand all the arrows aimed at the target ‘The Donald’ has so skillfully placed over her inexperienced heart? Let’s hope so. She’s a kid. A very beautiful kid. Christians in particular have long been known to shoot their wounded. She may or may not be a believer, but let’s not make her into a “representative” of ANYTHING other than beauty. It really is only skin deep in most cases. As the skeletons come creeping out of her relatively new, sequin jammed closet, let’s keep it all in perspective. She’s a very beautiful . . . kid. . . .Off topic but not unrelated, I wonder what Jessica Hahn is doing since the Christian/Atheist/News media wolves spit her out?

Why would Donald Trumps money machine (willing) product be rushed into the position of  “Spokesperson” for anything other than a beauty contest?

“Don’t Tread On Me”

Does anyone see any connection to that phrase anymore? Anyone? . . . Anyone?. . . Bueller? . . .

Our softer, en vogue, more forgiving President’s answer to that one would be a resounding ‘NO, and thank goodness’. Perhaps instead of a coiled snake with this slogan, he’d prefer maybe . . . a hamster with ‘May I Have This Dance?’ as a representation of our posture and strength?
