The day has arrived.  Our President, BHO, is meeting tonight over a cold beer with Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and  Cambridge police Sgt., James Crowley,  who arrested Gates a week ago for creating a public disturbance and resisting arrest.  Gates further claimed racism against  Sgt. Crowley and Obama escalated the rhetoric when he “opened mouth and inserted foot”  by saying the officer acted stupidly even though he, Obama, admitted to not knowing the facts.  There is so much wrong with this situation it is hard to know where to start in dissecting it.

First, I’m quite certain that it is wrong to show youth that the way to deal with a problem is to sit down with alcohol and discuss it.  I haven’t heard this brought up in any discussion but I believe it is worth a mention.

Secondly, I see no upside for Sgt. Crowley in this meeting at the picnic table.  By all accounts he acted entirely appropriately and legally in his arrest of the angry professor.  Therefore, it seems to be all downside for him.  Rumor has it that Gates is expecting Crowley to apologize for racism.

Thirdly, where is Obama’s apology for his actions here?  He has apologized to every country and two-bit dictator around the globe for the US causing everything from tooth decay to the made up issue of   “man made global warming.”   He has not, however, apologized for his terming Crowley’s arrest of Gates as stupid.  BHO did his usual dance around the facts by saying he could have “calibrated his words better.”   This is his best “I didn’t inhale” imitation of Bill Clinton.

Fourthly, where is the apology to and commendation of Lucia Whalen, the Cambridge resident who placed the 911 call when she observed Gates breaking down the door of the house that turned out to be his own?  She has been excoriated and accused of racism in her call and subsequent statements.  Both of these have been proven to have been false accusations.

These instantaneous cries of racism in many situations involving multi-racial encounters is patently outrageous.  When asked by the 911 operator, Ms. Whalen said the person breaking into the house looked “kind of Hispanic.”  She never said black.  She simply reported what she saw in as definitive a manner as possible.  We are approaching a situation where if we describe an automobile wreck we can’t identify the color of the car without offending someone.  If we say red, indians and Russians will scream.  If we say blue, depressed people will whine.  If yellow, cowards will cower in the corner and whisper their disapproval.  If we say black the outcries will be so loud as to cause Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton , the ultimate professional racists, to come forth in an instant with their rhyming rhetoric.  I’m sick of it!

The real racists in this matter are Obama and Gates.  One played the race card and the other trumped it.  This is the pattern we see developing all to frequently.  Let’s just call it what it is!

What’s going to be achieved by the tippling triangle on the White House playground?  Who knows!  It may only serve to mute the discussion of Obama’s attempt to hijack our medical system.  Personally, I’d like to see them strap it on and have a full on pugilistic donnybrook.  My money is on Crowley!

Our Government. Benevolent? Or Sinister?

Are things really as they seem with this politically orchestrated, speedily changing atmosphere? National Health Care Reform is advertised to help those without adequate insurance coverage. But what does it REALLY mean? Crash and Janet are bolder than ever in their assessment of our current administration. As you’ve grown to expect, they call them like they see them!
Was Barack Obama’s comment on the recent Professor Gates arrest an emotional ‘shoot from the hip’ mistake? . . .or was it a calculated under the radar message to minorities? Listen and find out our hosts opinions . . .and there are PLENTY of them.

If our government is so hell-bent on taking over health care in this country, why don’t they just take over the Doc-in-a-box clinics we see everywhere? Better yet, just build their own with the as yet unspent monopoly money they call “stimulus”. Why not just have those clinics, staffed by them, run by them, for all the Americans they ‘claim’ are suffering and dying from sky rocketing health care costs? Then those of us who appreciate the beauty of skilled ‘choice’ can keep our Dr.’s and coverage. If you have no insurance or Dr, use the Uncle Sam-in-a-box as your safety net. Then work hard to achieve a better health care plan. If you already have a plan, keep it. Appreciate and protect it with hard work. Also, let’s price coverage like we do cars~before government intervention cars anyway~for Cadillac coverage, pay the price. For used VW coverage, pay that price.

Lowering standards has NEVER resulted in ‘equality’. . . only ‘less quality’. The answer to why the government would never try such a simple solution as described above is the deep dark sinister part of what’s happening around us. The reason is because helping those uninsured and/or unemployed is not the goal of this health care bill. The real goal is (this will be offensive~it’s even offensive to me, but I’m calling it) to punish whitey for being rich. There, I said it. Or punishing rich people because they are rich. Either way, it’s equally offensive and equally WRONG. Their reasoning seems not to be so much about helping minorities as it is about securing their future votes. That would include whatever lie they must tell to lock the doors on those votes. This boils down to being in power and staying in power. Certainly not about helping those who need help.

Try to imagine where the Boston Red Sox would be if the playing field was leveled to admit lesser skilled players so that those un-gifted sportsmen had a chance to be on an elite team . . . It wouldn’t be much of a team then, would it? How about a first baseman in a wheelchair? A shortstop with bi-polar disorder? A pitcher who is sight impaired? I use this metaphor not to infer that different people have different worth~but to show how flawed “leveling the playing field” really is in reality.

I’m not rich, I am light skinned with  wide variety in my genes, and I am where I am because my parents busted their behinds providing love, safety & education for me as I grew up. Yes my Dad lost his job once, but it wasn’t for long because he’d have taken any job no matter how menial just to keep working. I cannot imagine my father or mother EVER taking any assistance from the government to put food on the table. They believed as I now do, that it’s not governments responsibility to provide anything other than a protection of our Constitutional rights and freedoms. We had the right to fail. We also enjoyed to right to succeed.

Jobs, health care coverage, cars, houses, cell phones, computers and the like are not “rights”. They are privileges. If this health care bill passes, the ONLY possible outcome is “less quality” for everybody. The reason this is posted under “Freedom Watch” is because this bill ( even under re-writes)threatens to take away our “Republic” and replace it with a “Marxist” form of government. Please, call your representatives both Democrat and Republican, even those who are NOT your district reps and demand that they stop this insanity.  202-224-3121.

This Government of Distraction. . .

As usual, there are a lot of topics on the table at JTIU. The Obama administration seems to be using ‘slight of hand’ moves to distract our attention while BIG changes are slipping through the Congress and the House! Cap and Trade, Health Care Reform & Supreme Court appointments are apparently just the beginning of the proposed major changes. Par for the course, Crash waxes eloquent on these and more, as well as answers Janet’s questions about Sarah Palin. If she looked more like Margaret Thatcher, would she receive the respect she deserves? Listen in to find out what Janet and Crash think!

As I write  I am watching President Apology again throw the United States under the bus as he tells the world that we are the culprit for global warming and that we have done far less to change our attitude and actions toward it than other countries.  If that were not bad enough, as a basis for his claims he has had to postulate that man made global warming is a fact.  He so asserts by saying, in concert with Al Gore, that “the time for debate is over…. man made global warming is a fact.”   There is mounting evidence and an exploding list of learned scientists who believe otherwise.   What’s more, they have the data to refute claims made by the alarmists.

A recent Wall Street Journal Article states that  “the collapse of the “consensus” (ie. global warming assertions) has been driven by reality. The inconvenient truth is that the earth’s temperatures have flat-lined since 2001.” Man made global warming,  is not fact!!! The administration’s efforts not withstanding, the debate is not over.  Strong attempts will be made to squelch the debate, as the liberals do with all arguments opposing their attempts at control, but it will not go away.  The truth will come out.

I’ve had a belly full of this bunch of liberal idiots trying to give away what so many have fought so long to build and protect.  They will use every tool that is handy including;  lies, obfuscation, intimidation and theft of freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution and The Bill Of Rights.  We must seek truth and be willing to defend it.  Defense of truth has been at the core of our nation’s existence.  We must not let this be taken away from us.  Be informed and able to defend the truth….before we lose the right to do so.

We are all great at griping about the egregious way our government is skinning us but few do anything about it. Janet and Crash give 3 specific things we all can do to MAKE A DIFFERENCE at the grass roots level. Listen, write and give them your thoughts about how you are making a difference. We have a long way to go but we can do it.

Isn’t it a cool feeling when you see something from your childhood that’s been restored to it’s original condition? While cars have come a long way with safety features~seat belts, airbags etc, there’s still a warm, safe sensation that comes over you when you see a car just like Dad’s. Do you ever wonder how/why sights like that (temporarily) bring back the common sense of a simpler time? It’s more than just seeing a 1956 sedan look like new again. It’s getting a glimpse into a time when we weren’t ‘too big for our britches’ . . . when we had common goals, common friends and common enemies.  Back to when we weren’t sitting in front of a flickering box waiting for the next 100 shows to come on to decide from, or ‘surfing’ the world for news of who blew themselves up. We were healthier then. We might not have lived as long, but we lived more in those shorter years.  And it’s not just ‘nostalgia’, and missing the old days. We truly were healthier, in more ways than not.   

Like gorging on caramel as a meal 3 times a day, too much of a good thing is just outrageously bad. Instant media is a good thing, but too much can overload your brain circuit and short it out! Most of us have seen/heard so many that they just go in one ear and out the other. . .we think. . .but tune in and count the number of erectile dysfunction commercials thrown at you in a day. Or how many ‘has this happened to you?’ law firm commercials enticing you to sue someone. It’s all designed to grab you, tell you how important you are~you deserve more sex, more stuff, more money, more respect! For the sole reason: because you’re you! . . .and our government has become the biggest pitchman of them all! Folks, jobs and health care are not ‘Rights’.  We’re guaranteed the right to pursue happiness, not the right to happiness . . .

The worlds of “Face Book”, “My Space”, “E-mail”, “Satellite” & “Cable” TV, “Cell Phones”,  are all wonderful & we should be thankful for them! However, let’s not throw away time tested ‘tools’ for something else just because it’s easier. Keep things in perspective, and appreciate what your ‘elders’ appreciated. Yes, it’s nice to cool off in an air-conditioned den in a recliner with a remote in your hand, but it’s also nice to cool off by dangling your bare feet in a creek while you look for crawdads. Both are equally beneficial, and both come with consequences. 

The word progressive used to be a positive word meaning continuous steps to improvement. In this political climate, it’s meaning is more like the ‘medicinal’ usage when referring to a disease like cancer. In that case, I want nothing to do with ‘progressive’. The same goes for our country and it’s laws. When we look at where we are today, yes we need some changes. Health care and prescription costs are too high and we are in financial dire straits. Education, our legal system and on and on desperately need help, but so far all we seem to be doing is making it bigger and WORSE. It’s like we’ve got one of those beautiful 1956 sedans. When we try to start the engine it fails so we pull the choke out more, flooding it over and over. Knowing that a choke lever can help, we keep installing more ‘choke’s and every branch of government has theirs wide open trying to get the engine started again. It’s the only thing they know to do. Our politicians seem to have abandoned the common sense of our founding fathers . . . that usually less is more.

If the democrats wants to be known as the progressive party, let them. I don’t really care what the republicans call themselves. When they can figure out who they are, then they can decide. What we need right now is a ‘restorative’ party. We need to take our hands off the wheel, relax & take a few breaths. Over-reaction is proving far worse than no reaction. While we’re waiting for the flooded engine to drain, we need to cut out a bunch of those choke levers. When it’s so overused, it no longer acts as a primer or jump start. It does just the opposite. If we’re going to properly ‘restore’ the best country in the world, we need the owners manual that the original 56 signers left us on July 4, 1776. Everything and then some is spelled out in there.

Amidst all this chaos . . . God loves me . . .

So many of our freedoms and liberties are being stolen right out from under our feet that it’s hard to keep up with what’s currently being threatened. We here at JTIU are just as concerned as you are, and want to make it easier to bring these things to light. Think of this new category as our version of a ‘Freedom Czar’.
